Effective March 20, 2026
ProofSelf is built for people who show up and do the work. These guidelines exist to keep the community focused, safe, and accountable. By using ProofSelf, you agree to follow them.
ProofSelf is built on authenticity. Every proof video must be recorded live through the app at the time you complete your habit. Do not submit pre-recorded, recycled, staged, or manipulated videos. Do not use photos, screenshots, or static images in place of video. If your proof is not real, it does not count.
You may interact with other users through Your 5. Treat every member with respect. Do not harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate anyone. Do not use slurs, hate speech, or discriminatory language based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other characteristic. ProofSelf is a space for building yourself up, not tearing others down.
Do not submit proof videos that contain:
Your proof videos naturally reflect your life and your work. Talking about your projects, products, or business as part of showing your habits is encouraged. What is not allowed is using ProofSelf solely to advertise, promote affiliate links, or solicit other users with unsolicited commercial messages unrelated to your own accountability. Do not create multiple accounts. Do not use automated tools to interact with the service. Do not attempt to manipulate streaks, leaderboards, or any other feature.
Do not record other people in your proof videos without their knowledge and consent. Do not share personal information about other users outside of ProofSelf. Do not screenshot or screen-record proof videos from other users and share them externally without their permission.
Your 5 exists to help members stay accountable to their habits. Use Your 5 for encouragement, honest feedback, and mutual support. Do not use Your 5 to shame, mock, or pressure members in harmful ways. If your group is not working for you, you can leave at any time.
ProofSelf supports multiple identity paths and habits. Respect that other users may be working on different goals than yours. Do not judge, mock, or dismiss the habits or identity paths that other users choose. What matters is that they are showing up.
If you see content or behavior that violates these guidelines, report it through the app. We review all reports and take appropriate action. Do not abuse the reporting system by filing false or malicious reports.
Violations of these guidelines may result in:
We enforce these guidelines at our discretion. Severe violations (threats, illegal content, content involving minors) result in immediate account termination and may be reported to law enforcement.
We may update these guidelines as ProofSelf grows. We will notify you of material changes through the app. Continued use of ProofSelf after changes constitutes acceptance.
If you have questions about these guidelines or need to report a concern directly, contact us at support@proofself.com.
